Conferencia | 'Resiliencia y arte, los relatos del trauma' con Boris Cyrulnik
There is nothing simpler than the definition of resilience: the continuation of new development after psychological trauma. It is in a pre-verbal world, during the first months of life, that a sensitivity to the world is imprinted on our memory. It is only around the age of seven that our brain becomes capable of constructing a narrative. The emotion evoked by this narrative depends on our relationships: if we speak to a secure base, the story will have a calming effect. Collective narratives shape our sense of self. Theater, film, novels, and essays constitute a narrative that surrounds us; if there is disagreement, the narrative fractures. But if there is agreement, the wounded individual will possess a precious factor of resilience. Technology constitutes a tool for creating works of art and participates in collective emotions.
