Moving Abroad: Eventually...It's Just Life.

One month after moving from America to New Zealand, the novelty is starting to wear off — not in a bad way, but in a real-life way. In this video, I’m talking honestly about what the first month has actually felt like: the excitement, the exhaustion, the paperwork, the food differences, the house process, getting driver licences, figuring out RUCs, waiting on our shipping containers, and trying to rebuild normal life from scratch. We also took a much-needed trip to Rotorua with the kids — Skyline, the luge, Te Puia, Pōhutu Geyser, the Māori Arts and Crafts Institute, the hāngī-style buffet, Redwoods glow worms, Okere Falls, Polynesian Spa, and a few small moments that reminded us why we came here in the first place. This is not really a travel video. It’s more of an honest one-month check-in from the middle of the move — somewhere between leaving our old life and actually landing inside the new one. Thanks for being here. Still Human is the story of our family leaving America, moving to New Zealand, and trying to build a more grounded life in a world that keeps changing faster than most of us can process. This channel is about New Zealand, family, starting over, AI, uncertainty, work, health, community, and what it means to stay human through all of it.
