Armenien: Der Oberst der vier Kriege | ARTE Reportage

On September 13, 2022, the Azerbaijani army launched a new major offensive against southern Armenia. In the three days of fighting, 300 people died, and 10,000 Armenians were displaced. The war waged two years ago to recapture Nagorno-Karabakh, an autonomous region with an Armenian majority population surrounded by Azerbaijan, only temporarily satisfied Baku. President Aliyev and his Turkish ally Erdoğan still lacked the establishment of a "corridor" south of Armenia to create a connection between all the countries with Turkish culture and language in the region—from Turkey through Azerbaijan to Central Asia. In this endless war, one man has repeatedly distinguished himself: Gilbert Minassian, "The Colonel of the Four Wars," a man from Marseille with Armenian roots who fought alongside Armenia for thirty years. Our reporter accompanied him to gain a better understanding of the conflict between the two countries. #Armenia #War #Azerbaijan Video available until 30/10/2026 Subscribe to ARTE's YouTube channel:    / artede   Follow us on social media: Facebook:   / arte.tv   Twitter:   / artede   Instagram:   / arte.tv
