Straßenbahn Dresden | Die Lockwitztalbahn - Linie 31

The Lockwitztalbahn was an interurban tramway between Dresden-Niedersedlitz and Kreischa. After World War II, the Dresden transport authority took over the Lockwitztalbahn and assigned it route 31. From the late 1960s, the Lockwitztalbahn received eight refurbished Gotha-2 trams from Erfurt and eight rebuilt trams from the city network, which operated until the end of 1977. Unfortunately, service ended on December 18, 1977, and the tram was replaced by buses on route 96. One tram, car number 854, is on display at the Dresden Tram Museum. Another is in operation as a historic tram on the Kinitzschtalbahn. Film footage: Henk Ontrop, from the film "Trams in Trabant Country Part 2" by Joachim Kaddatz. Thank you for providing this footage.
