G-SHOCK G-LIDE GBX-100. Evolution or revolution of the G-Shock square?

So the greatly anticipated new G-Shock has finally arrived, the G-LIDE GBX-100-1ER is on my wrist. Is it a worthy descendant of the classic G-Shock square born in the 80's? I've been wearing mine for a few days now, here are my thoughts so far, and a look at this brand new watch from Casio, a overview of the functions and comparisons to previous models. A list of pros and cons is at the end if you want to rush to my summery. This could possibly be the best watch for a surfer. Certainly I've been using it in the ocean lots, the tide features are very useful, and clearly laid out thanks to the new screen tech. The new display technology really is a huge leap when compared to the classic LCD on most digital watches. Fairly priced too IMO. :) This video is available in 4K.
