TECHNIQUE 1) Take off neck. 2) Loosen adjustable knots for max lanyard length. 3) Slide Ferro Rod to opposite side. 4) Position yourself properly. Put edge of Ceramic Scraper on Firesteel and PULL Firesteel toward you while holding STILL Ceramic Scraper. CARE: Usually, if you take frequent showers, it will wash away any salt or harsh chemicals left on it by sweat or swimming. For good measure, it is prudent to occasionally oil it with a leather preserver/Protectant. We have had great results with Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP. Be careful when sliding up the Firesteel toggle up the necklace not to skin the fine finish on the leather. Likewise, avoid nicking the leather cord with the edge of the ceramic scrapper piece.
