It makes for a quaint experience to see local village lifestyle in the mountains. From Naggar, the trail leads past Roerich’s cottage and there is a motorable road to Rumsu, but the walking path is shorter with stunning views of the valley and the mountains. Rumsu is a charming village with old wooden houses; the residents worship Jamlu Devta (main deity of Malana). The area around the temple is the centre of activity in Rumsu and is an impressive one. Leather boots or apparels are not permitted in the vicinity of the temple. Beware though, as outsiders are forbidden to touch or enter the temple.
