⁴ᴷ Gifu: Ogaki Station (岐阜県: 大垣駅) - Japan Walking Tour (December, 2024)

It’s getting colder, so I decided to head west. I planned to visit the major cities of Shikoku, so after crossing the sea, I took a ferry from Tokushima to Wakayama, passed through Osaka, then Shiga Prefecture, and now I’ve finally arrived in Gifu Prefecture. I’m gradually getting closer to Tokyo. Ogaki City is an old post town that developed long ago and is known for the historically significant Ogaki Castle, which played an important role in the Battle of Sekigahara. There’s an impressive covered arcade shopping street in front of the station, but unfortunately, it feels a bit quiet because most of the activity seems to be taking place at a commercial facility on the opposite side of the station.
