WATCH: Verdict to be announced in trial of 2 brothers accused in death of Akron teen Ethan Liming

The verdict is in. A jury in Akron has reached their decision in the case of two brothers charged in connection with the death of 17-year-old Ethan Liming, which happened in June 2022 during an alleged altercation outside of the I PROMISE School in Akron. Both 21-year-old Deshawn Stafford Jr. and 20-year-old Tyler Stafford each face charges of involuntary manslaughter and assault. Deshawn, however, faces an additional count of involuntary manslaughter along with aggravated assault. They had each initially been charged with murder, but those charges were reduced last August when a Summit County grand jury issued new indictments on lesser charges. A third suspect charged in the case – Donovon Jones – previously pleaded no contest to two counts of misdemeanor assault and was given a suspended sentence of 180 days.
