TATTOO BLOWOUTS!! What you need to know. Plus BLOWING OUT some lines on my leg in the name of YouTube Science. In todays video we take a look at what a blowout is, how to avoid them, and ways you can fix them. We start by going over the different layers of skin starting with the epidermis (top layer of skin) followed by the Dermis (aka the sweet spot) and finally we have the Hypodermis (this is the fatty layer of skin) Where the blowouts take place. Our goal in tattooing is to try to consistently put our tattoo ink into the dermis. However if the ink goes to deep and lands in the Hypodermis then you will see what is known as a blowout. This is when ink goes to deep and can no longer hold its desired form and expands under the skin. Blowouts can be a pain in the butt so learning how to avoid them is key. We will also be going over how to cover up/ fix a blowout in the event you end up with one. Last but not least I will bust out my leg and do my best to show you what a blow out looks like in real time. Finally I will do the unthinkable by slapping my leg to see if hitting fresh lines or a fresh tattoo can cause even more of a blown out effect in the skin.
