King Jaja of Opobo was among the most prominent leaders and successful businessmen during the early colonial era. His activities in the palm oil business in West Africa marked him out as one of the smartest businessmen to have come out of the African continent. Opobo land is one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Nigeria where you get sights and sounds of the Kingdom from where Jaja controlled both local international trades and the sea shore from where thousands of giant canoes moved palm oil from Opobo to other parts of the world, including Britain.
