The sources indicated that $40 million and 100 billion Iraqi dinars have been seized so far in connection with the corruption case. Two members of parliament, Hussein Mu'nis of Hezbollah and Alaa Sukkar of the Reconstruction Coalition, managed to flee the country, according to the sources. The sources stated that the raids in Iraq targeted 19 individuals, including current and former members of parliament and businessmen. An operations room headed by Ali al-Zidi oversaw the anti-corruption raids. The sources explained that the anti-corruption raids in Iraq extended to the homes of the accused, both inside and outside the Green Zone. They noted that the Iraqi judiciary and government had developed a plan to raid the homes of MPs accused of corruption.
