Calanques en Aux Troubles - Documentaire

The Calanques, an exceptional setting that welcomes more than 2 million visitors each year. But the crystal-clear waters of the Calanques have concealed the relentless onslaught of human pollution for over a century. A factory has just been authorized to continue discharging its wastewater directly into the sea. Toxic waste that has been poisoning the seabed for 50 years. Fishing grounds have disappeared, and some beaches where tourists lay their towels are contaminated with lead and arsenic. The culprit: old metal factories, now abandoned. Another source of pollution, likely unknown to visitors, comes from pipes of several wastewater treatment plants that discharge toxic water into the sea. We offer you an investigation into one of the wildest places in the Mediterranean, but perhaps the most polluted. A Tony Comiti Production. Written by: Chloé Vienne.
