The Master's Division was initially created with a clear intent: to provide a level playing field for older players who were struggling to maintain the throwing power needed to compete with younger, stronger competitors. However, the game has evolved, and age is no longer the correct indicator. We are now seeing elite players in the Masters who possess distance capabilities comparable to the top 10–15 longest Men's division players and their dominance is making some of the shorter throws reconsider their commitment. We make the definitive case for scrapping age-based criteria and replacing it with a performance-driven structure based on objective metrics: tee-shot distance and handicap ability.
