My name is Velpa, and I am dedicated to completing retro videogames (from the first to the fourth generation) in No Damage conditions and without savestates, and this time I bring you Sonic Chaos for the Sega Master System, a game that we will break to its very essence in order to complete it without receiving a single hit. Are you ready? 🎮🎮🎮 WHAT DOES "WITHOUT SAVESTATES" MEAN? 🎮🎮🎮 It means that in case I receive a hit anywhere in the game, I do not return to the beginning of the level or the section in which I am, but to the beginning of the game. This condition greatly increases the difficulty of the game, but also adds a touch of magic and adrenaline to it that makes the experience very enjoyable. 🎮🎮🎮 MY PERSONAL RULES ON THIS RUN 🎮🎮🎮 -All emeralds -No items: the only exception are Special Stage 01 and 03, where you're forced to take items to continue. 🎮🎮🎮 COMMENTS ON THIS RUN 🎮🎮🎮 There's a little edit at the start, because I wanted to play the first stages as fast as possible. I mention this in my Spanish commentary version (I make English commentary sometimes too, but not as much because not many people watch them :p if you'd like to hear me more in English, let me know!). So sometimes I restarted not because of a hit, but because some trick didn't work. So in the unedited version (which I can share with you if you want), I just keep pressing start like I'm mad lol. Here I added the cutscenes and a little pause between transitions because I love that. Also, the Final Boss in this game has to be one of the best I've ever seen. I remember when I played the game for the first time, I lost so many lives! And even when practicing for the No Damage, it was really difficult and even on this run he made me bounce, that Eggman! At the end, even if you have rings, if he hits you (or you miss the hit, that can happen too, you fall on the glass in the front for example), you lose and you have to start all over again :( . The music is awesome too, it fits so well! 🎮🎮🎮 MY STYLE WHEN DOING NO DAMAGE RUNS 🎮🎮🎮 Personally, I love a No Damage Run that is full of style and aggressiveness. With style, I mean things like joking with enemies/bosses (maybe something like trying different combos that might do less damage and make the fight longer, and maybe involves a higher risk, but is funny and entertaining to watch), and with aggressiveness, I mean things like getting myself into positions where it's very easy for me to take damage (maybe something like fighting in the middle of the room instead of cornering myself and making use of the fact that enemies can't attack past a certain point, what is more technically known as the player being out of bounds for the enemy range of attack). I only play safe mostly when it's absolutely necessary (to avoid bad RNG/randomness near the end of a run, for example).
