Ecatepec, Tecámac y Tonatitla quedan bajo el agua tras fuertes lluvias

Heavy rains last night caused flooding and traffic chaos in Mexico City and the State of Mexico, particularly affecting Ecatepec, Tecámac, and Tonanitla. Water levels exceeded 45 centimeters in several areas, causing the partial suspension of Line 1 of the Mexibús and mobilizing emergency services to rescue and assist residents. In Mexico City, the overflowing of the El Cristo retention basin and the Río de los Remedios flooded roads and homes in Azcapotzalco, while police and firefighters carried out relief efforts. Although no injuries were reported, authorities warned that the rains will continue, while long-standing flooding problems persist, such as the underpass at Periférico and Picacho, which has been collapsing with every storm for over 50 years.
