260 | MUST DO!! ABACA VILLAGE MOUNTAIN TREK!!! (Fiji Travel VLOG)

27 April 2019 - Abaca Village II | VLOG 260 We wake up and have breaky in our village homestay ready for our big 6-hour round trip mountain trek!! 🍛🎒🥾⛰ We ascend from the village at 9am weaving our way through the high grasslands as we work our way towards the forest of the mountains. 🌾🌾🌾 At the halfway point we stop for a water break and fill up our water bottles from the fresh waterfalls that run down the mountains. We journey upwards through the forest covered in an eerie mist with the occasional light rain. ☁️☔️ We summit just after midday at the lookout point to what should be a view stretching to the ocean, but instead are met with the grey endless mist that covered our view. Standing on the cliffs edge looking down I’ve never seen something so surreal!! It was honestly a crazy feeling!!! Our luck turned as the mist began to clear and opened the view of the entire landscape, with Nadi in the distance and the Mamanuca Islands further beyond! It was breathtaking!! And of course I couldn’t help myself and take Mav up for a spin. What a sight!! 🚁⛰☁️ We return at 3:30pm for a late but well earned lunch. We said bye to the local kids before headed back down to Lautoka town then caught the bus to Nadi for our last night here in Fiji, a transit which took 3 hours after a long day hiking. What a day it was!! 🏠🏠🚚🚌🚕 We spend the morning in Nadi before making our way to the airport for our flight back home! Definitely a very different experience in Fiji the second time round I was glad to do have visited again, explored and experienced the new things I enjoy doing from 10 years ago!
