Suilad, Not Lost Wanderer! Run away with me to my beautiful country New Zealand, otherwise known as Middle Earth. Today we are visiting Wētā Workshop, where the particular brand of alchemy that turns New Zealand into a real-life fairy tale happens! Just a note on some of the scenery, I used stock footage of The Shire (graciously provided by Canva) which is actually located further North in New Zealand at Hobbiton, also known as Matamata, so if you want to see that part of Tolkien’s world, you won’t find it in Wellington. I still used it because it is beautiful. All other footage is either filmed by me or sourced from Canva. Scroll down for the link to Hobbiton and please note, it’s almost an eight-hour drive from Wellington, if you’re lucky. Special advice to American and German drivers, our roads are not like your big, beautiful straight roads. Friends from those countries are often taken aback by how intense New Zealand driving is. 8 hours on a map is realistically two to three days driving and it’s best to share the task. Stay safe guys!
