La place du village : Rencontres aux Intages à Combloux

A mountain tourist village, part of the historic province of Faucigny and the current community of communes of the Pays du Mont-Blanc. Traditionally focused on cereal farming, the village began to focus on summer tourism in the 1920s. As early as the 19th century, Victor Hugo described the village as "the pearl of the Alps in its setting of glaciers." During the 1930s, winter sports developed, giving rise to the ski resort and connecting it to the large Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area. Today, the promotional term "Combloux 360°" is used to refer to this resort in the Pays du Mont-Blanc, due to its panoramic views of the surrounding massifs (Mont-Blanc Massif, Aravis Massif, Fiz Range, Aiguilles Rouges Massif, etc.). It has been awarded the "tourist commune" label.
