The Taksim-Kabataş funicular, also called F1 in terms of transport, is a completely underground funicular located in Istanbul, Turkey. It is part of the city's public transport and connects the Kabataş district to Taksim Square. Opened in 2006, it is the second funicular line inaugurated in Istanbul after the Tünel The funicular line is about 600 m long, it has a height difference of about 70 m with a maximum gradient of 22%. It is located entirely underground in a single-track tunnel with an overpass for passing cars located in the middle. Car departures take place every 3 minutes and the journey time to connect the two stations takes just over 2 minutes. Kabataş station is located in the district of the same name and close to the banks of the Bosphorus. It offers a connection with the T1 line of the tramway as well as with one of the main piers in the city where many ferries allow you to cross the strait. Taksim Station is located under the famous Taksim Square, which is particularly popular with tourists and locals alike.
