Vallo di Lauro, la superstrada dei clan. E dell'amianto

http://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it - Today it's a mound of compacted earth covered in weeds that runs through the countryside. It was supposed to be a highway connecting the villages of the Lauro Valley to the A30, the Naples-Caserta motorway. An arterial road, but above all, an escape route in the event of an eruption of Vesuvius. Instead, it's a toxic waste dump. It's not simply an unfinished project, a €50 million public work (€40 million for the two lots under investigation) left abandoned. The road is an open-air ecological bomb: it contains asbestos, a carcinogenic substance. By Nello Trocchia
