Tramex is one of the leaders in the moisture meter industry and the CMEX5 is no exception. This unit uses gravimetric testing as a baseline, giving quantitative results and is ASTM F2659 compliant. One of its mainly used features is it non-destructive / non-invasive measuring mode, which uses back pins that activate when pressed against the intended surface. A signal is sent from the bottom pins to the top pins, measuring the moisture content to a depth of 20mm. This best works with concrete, but other modes can let you read different types of surfaces such as drywall. The unit can also use an invasive-pin mode, when connecting the optional wood probe, also sold at Agile Equipment. This probe interlocks into the port at the top of the unit. Simply selecting pin mode, you have the option to choose from a variety of surfaces such as drywall and a comprehensive ranges of wood. This unit’s display is of premium quality compared to its competitors, as the screen can be easily read in sunlight or in dark spaces due to its frontlight function.
