Hiroshi TAKEYAMA - FUYO-EN

It's February 2026, and I have an appointment with Taguchi-san, the curator of the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum. Later that day, we're going to visit Master Takeyama's nursery, Fuyō-en. Master Takeyama has managed this nursery since he was 40, having taken over from his father. Fuyō-en has been around for 85 years and is one of the six historic nurseries in Omiya Bonsai Village. It possesses a unique charm and is distinguished by one notable characteristic: it is perfectly organized and aligned. Unlike other nurseries where the intense activity can sometimes lead to a certain accumulation of trees and equipment, here there is a true sense of serenity and order. Access and Recommended Route The Bonsai Village is bordered by two train stations. To optimize your visit, I recommend following this route: Arrival - Toro Station: This is the ideal starting point, as you arrive directly at the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum. There you will find all the necessary information, as well as detailed maps of the various nurseries in the village. Walking through the village: The village is located between the two train stations. Walking from one to the other, you can explore the different historical gardens. Departure - Omiya-kōen Station: Located on the Tobu Urban Park Line, this station is opposite Toro Station. The Fuyō-en nursery is right next to this station, making it the perfect place to conclude your visit to the village. I sincerely thank Mr. Takeyama for welcoming me and especially for taking the time to share anecdotes with us. I also thank Mr. Taguchi for his guidance, which was the perfect way to end the day. And I'm very happy to have been able to have tea with them to end the day in a peaceful moment that pleasantly concluded an intense day; I look forward to visiting this nursery again. --- Subscribe for FREE HERE: http://urlr.me/Vytnf --- BONSAI NETWORK https://linksight.me/bonsaiculture --- OUR BOOKS https://www.payasso.fr/bc/boutique
