❤️ IT HAPPENED!! First Ever Fledge for Bella & Scout!!! – NCTC Nest Bella & Scout (6/15)

I am SO stinkin' happy, y'all! If you've followed this channel for a length of time, you know just how much I've been waiting for this moment. After three seasons of eggs together, Bella & Scout finally saw a baby to fledge... and the second is not far behind. Though Bella is quite experienced, this was a huge milestone for our boy Scout - and after the last two seasons... well, this is a really big deal. Susie was first to fledge, but RJ is obviously getting in lots of practice. RJ's reaction to Susie's first flight was quite priceless. Both parents stopped by post-fledge to drop food - and take notice of the shrinking population. And I have to say, it was especially interesting to watch Susie's "practice" throughout the day. Hindsight being 20/20, this bird knew that today was the day, and s/he was so excited to get in all the skill training in a crunch session throughout the morning & early afternoon (with RJ taking advantage of some "nest-to-myself" moments as well). Watch to the end for a fun round of "find the eaglet" in the trees. Special appearances by a visiting parent as well.
