Past to Present - Walhalla History - Old Gold Mining Town

Walhalla, Victoria, 2011. I found some old photos from the 1880s during the Gold Rush. There is a lot of history in Walhalla and I took the time to find the original locations from the 1880s photos while I was there in 2011. I have stayed here many of times before. If you ever get the time to visit this historic town, I would recommend it. A lot to see and do: Bush walking, camping, fishing, 4WD 4x4, Long Tunnel Extended Mine tour, goldfields railway, train ride, train station, panning for gold, visiting the old cemetery and the old cricket oval, admire the beauty of the Thompson River, go camping at Copper's Creek and/or delving into some Australian history. I would also recommend a meal at the Wally Pub; fantastic parmas!
