How Robbie Ryan shot The Favourite
The Favourite is quite possibly the most visually interesting period drama to date, and Cinematographer Robbie Ryan is to thank for that. He and Yorgos Lanthimos managed to craft a look that we haven't seen before in this age-old genre, and today, I take a look at how they did it. So, in today’s video, I take a look at one, why they took this route, but also how they took it, by looking at the equipment Ryan used, as well as what went into the lighting and composition Then I’ll also have a look at the look, and what influenced Lanthimos and Ryan. As always if you have a recommendation for an analysis, let me know below!
