However, it was only successful in the sense that it was completed, as the long-term consequences of the Haitian revolution are far from optimistic. Modern Haiti is one of the poorest countries not only in the Caribbean but also in the world, known for its economic, social, ethnic, and climate problems, which compound each other. Nevertheless, Haiti's history remains an important part of the global struggle for freedom, and many legendary figures, such as Che Guevara or Simón Bolívar, were at least inspired by the experiences of Haitian revolutionaries, and often even found support from them. So, today on the Redrum channel, we'll tell the story of the first slave state, which managed to win the battle against white colonizers and the metropolis (more than once), but it didn't lead them to a happy future.
