Alessandro Borghi e Luca Marinelli: "La nostra amicizia ad alta quota, trovarsi non è stato un caso"
The Eight Mountains, starring Alessandro Borghi and Luca Marinelli, was released in theaters just days before Christmas (December 22nd), based on Paolo Cognetti's novel of the same name, winner of the 2017 Strega Prize. Directed by Belgians Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch, it won over the Cannes Jury last May and tells the story of the deep friendship between Pietro, a city dweller, and Bruno, a mountaineer. Fanpage.it caught up with the actors to get the behind-the-scenes scoop on this new film, which sees them reunited on set seven years after Claudio Caligari's Don't Be Bad. Alessandro Borghi: "We've experienced our friendship alone, something we don't always manage to do because when we see each other, we're with our respective families—me with my partner, and him with his wife. Being forced to have a space each day just for us was a great blessing, and it was wonderful to discover how happy we were alone in those mountains. I think the gauge of a lasting friendship is always having something to say, never running out of topics, or the desire to share. Between Luca and I, there's this constant exchange that nourishes our friendship." Luca Marinelli: "We experienced our friendship at 4,000 meters, and it lasted. This time together was almost like a vacation. It was wonderful because it gave us the opportunity to share our lives and this work."
