Jimmy Cliff Interview, Part 2
In the second half of our interview with Jimmy Cliff in 1988, he discussed "The Harder They Come", his film career and a few other topics. We were fortunate to cover some of the same ground with Perry Henzell, in the same year, so I have included a little of that interview here as well. I am still adjusting to the passing of such a huge presence and inspiration in our lives. Jimmy was blessed with a longer life and career than many of our musical heroes, but that doesn't make his sudden absence easier to accept. All three of the men in this video are now gone, and I was feeling that acutely when I edited this piece. I give thanks for them all and especially love the heartical interplay in this video between (off-camera) director, Stafford Ashani and Jimmy. I am also time-tripping to the days when I worked for Perry, and sat in that same chair at 10A that you see him in here. Giving thanks on this Thanksgiving Day to all our conscious warriors, past and present. R.I.P. and love, Honorable Jimmy Cliff. You were and will always be a blessing.
