COPD flare-up or simple cold?

An explanation of the difference between COPD exacerbations (flare-up) and just simple viral infections. Some people who have COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) can have very frequent exacerbations, and this is a high risk situation, given that their overall health may deteriorate faster.
