The fluid temperature sensor is 100% functional. In a few cases, a bad engine temperature reading is caused by a broken engine temperature sensor, but it is very rare. This can be easily verified on a cold engine in the morning by connecting the computer and comparing the temperature from the sensor and the thermometer in the car. A slight difference of up to 2 ° C is acceptable, above we can suspect damage and it is worth replacing it with another working one, preferably original, to confirm or rule out the damage. You can also compare the sensor resistance with another sensor at different temperatures "on the table" outside the car. For example, putting both of them in the refrigerator and measuring after taking them out and then heat them with a dryer or put them on the heater and measure again.
