Join us on our unforgettable two-day adventure to Mt. Okuhotaka (Okuhotakadake), the highest peak in Japan’s Northern Alps! Our journey started from Kamikōchi, followed by an overnight stay at Karasawa Hut, before an early morning summit push. This turned out to be the most challenging hike we’ve done so far—not only because of the steep climbs, chains, and ladders, but also because several snow-covered sections were still present. A single slip in these exposed areas could have resulted in serious injury or worse, making every step require extra focus and caution. Despite the challenges, standing on the summit made every step worth it. The breathtaking views of the Japanese Alps, the sunrise, and the sense of accomplishment are memories we’ll never forget. 📍 Route: Kamikōchi → Karasawa Hut → Mt.
