THE SEARCH: FOR THE PILBARA OLIVE (finding one of Australia's biggest snakes)
In this video I head into the Pilbara with my partner Bella in search of one of Australia’s biggest and heaviest snakes, the Pilbara Olive python (Liasis olivaceus barroni). An elusive snake that is rumoured to get over six metres and lives in some of the most amazing landscapes in the country. After a few different locations and hours of searching we finally came across a beautiful three metre plus individual. What an amazing encounter with such a special animal, one I’ll never forget. The area shown in this video holds great cultural significance for indigenous Australians. I would personally like to pay my respects to the Elders and traditional custodians past present and emerging of the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi country.
