Geisha Nights & Golden Baths – Japan’s Hidden Onsen Town (Ikaho Pt.3)
Welcome to the final chapter in The Onsen Guy’s Ikaho Onsen journey! In this episode, we wrap up our visit to one of Japan’s most historic hot spring towns in unforgettable style. First, we soak in both of Ikaho’s famous baths — the golden and silver springs — said to have unique healing properties and distinct mineral compositions. Then, we head to the breathtaking Uenoyama Tokimeki Observation Deck, where sweeping views of Ikaho and Mt. Akagi await. We also explore the massive and spiritually rich Housui-ji Temple, nestled in the heart of the mountains. And finally, we spend the night at the charming Tamaki Ryokan, where I enjoy a luxurious meal… and a surprise visit from geisha! I had the rare chance to enjoy a private geisha performance up close — complete with music, dance, and even traditional party games like ozashiki asobi.
