This might be the biggest "blind playthrough" moment of the entire series... I finally finished Shar's Gauntlet, but not before making one of the worst assumptions I've made so far. I got completely stuck trying to open the door leading to the spear. After reading the books, I convinced myself I needed the blood of a Selûnite to unlock it. Since Isobel at Last Light Inn is a Selûnite—and Ketheric Thorm's daughter—I spent a long time thinking it through before deciding to kill her. Big. Mistake. The moment she died, the Last Light Inn fell to the Shadow Curse. The entire town turned into monsters, and I had to fight my way through everyone... including Jaheira. It was one of the toughest and most heartbreaking battles of the run. After all of that, I eventually discovered the truth... the answer had been sitting in a book inside the library next to the altar the whole time. 😅 One book. That's all it took. I felt like an absolute idiot—but that's exactly what I signed up for with a completely blind playthrough. No guides, no spoilers, just my own decisions... for better or worse. From there, I tracked down the Nightsong and confronted Balthazar. There was no way I was letting him take her, so I put the necromancer down instead. It turned into a challenging fight, but one I really enjoyed. In the end, I chose to spare the Nightsong, and now our path leads straight to Moonrise Towers, where our next chapter begins. This is Baldur's Gate 3 Honor Mode played the old-fashioned way—blind, one save only, and every decision has permanent consequences. Sometimes those decisions lead to epic victories... and sometimes they wipe out an entire town because I misunderstood a clue. 🎲 One Save.
