A true 3k mile time capsule on one of the best optioned Eldorado’s you could order in 1975. Now, when we get in super low mile cars like this, there is always a temptation to bring it right off the trailer and into the building. However, these low mile cars that are 30+ years old need just as much attention as a higher mileage example. We put on roughly 20 miles on this one to ensure all the mechanicals are in working order, suspension is strong and tight, and for the obvious purposes of our driving videos. This car also has an interesting fact that it is one of the last convertibles to be produced before the US Dept of Transportation enacted new safety guidelines for convertibles in the event of a crash and rollover. As you can see, this car does not have any sort of roll bar or structure to keep it from crushing the occupants in the event of a rollover accident. GM ceased production of all convertibles after the new regulations and it took a few years before they were able to reintroduce convertibles into their model lineup with new body styles and safety structure in mind.
