If you want practical next steps, testing strategies, and real-world warnings — this is for you. What I cover Why QA must learn AI: adopting tools increases productivity and opens new opportunities instead of replacing you. Practical starting steps: get API credits or a subscription, push code, create PRs, and practice analyzing diffs. "I've been using Claude Code as a QA engineer now for six months" — so these are field-tested recommendations. Skills, agents and MCP servers: build reusable skills (test-plan generation, PR triage), wrap skills to fit your stack, and use agents to run multi-step workflows. How to get started (quick wins) Start small: codify team standards into prompt templates and run them on real diffs. Build validation skills to detect overconfident outputs and hallucinations. Add MCP servers or toolboxes so models can query logs, test results, and telemetry directly instead of relying on memory. Key mindset Experiment fast, fail forward: as I like to say, "I'd rather fail 200 steps forward to fall 50 steps back than to only take 10 steps forward." That mentality unlocked rapid improvements in our workflows. Stay skeptical: "AI might gaslight you at times... it's really overly confident. But guess what? You can also build skills to challenge the output." Use checkers, validators, and human-in-the-loop reviews. Resources mentioned: Claude Code, CodeX, Gemini CLI, prompt templates, agents, MCP servers, techup.dev community. Try the recommendations on a small PR this week and iterate.
