Rick Owens Just Got Caught Up in Luxury's Latest Scandal

Another day, another luxury fashion scandal. This time, Italian police have reportedly raided the offices of nine luxury fashion companies as part of an investigation into alleged labor exploitation within their supply chains. Sadly one of the names on that list is Owenscorp, AKA Rick Owens. You hate to see it. That being said, it may be a little early to grab the pitchforks. These brands aren't under investigation YET, just being asked to submit contracts and documents. But if luxury brands charge premium prices based on craftsmanship, heritage, sustainability, and ethical production, what happens when they can't guarantee those values throughout their own supply chains? Is "Made in Italy" still meaningful? And if luxury can't differentiate itself from fast fashion on quality, craftsmanship, or ethics...what exactly are we paying for? I'd love to hear where you stand on all of this. Should luxury brands be held responsible for what happens further down the supply chain, or is it unrealistic to expect complete oversight? https://www.businessoffashion.com/new... #rickowens #luxuryfashion #fashionnews #luxuryexploitation #luxuryscandal #chanel
