Running Costs (Recurring Expense - First 5 Months) Ducklings start laying eggs at approximately 20 to 22 weeks (5 months). During this period, there is only expenditure, no income: Feed: The cost of feed, medicines, and vaccines for the first five months is approximately ₹150 to ₹180 per duck. 5-month cost for 1,000 ducks: Approximately ₹150,000 to ₹180,000 (Note: If you have a pond or take them out to graze, feed costs can be reduced by 30% to 40%.) 3. Daily Maintenance Costs When ducks start laying eggs, they need feed every day. Each duck consumes approximately 120-130 grams of feed per day.
