EarthX 2026 Conference

This April, attorney and counselor Natalie Cavellier participated in a panel at EarthX2026 to discuss the Aguanita Project, a South Texas partnership tackling Baffin Bay’s declining water quality. The project unites a diverse coalition of private landowners, academic researchers, non-governmental organizations, corporate fiduciaries, and legal professionals. At the heart of it is the kind of work we are most passionate about: walking alongside landowners, understanding their vision for their land, and ensuring they have the right people in their corner. The discussion featured Ms. Orr's inspiring efforts to transform her 240-acre farmland along Petronilla Creek into a constructed wetland, reducing nutrient runoff into Baffin Bay, a vital fishery for Texas and the United States. Her story is a testament to what's possible when a landowner's passion meets the right counsel and coalition. Thank you to Danna Orr, Athena Frasca at the Harte Research Institute, Colby Winzer, and Eric Redeker with Wells Fargo for a great discussion. We'd also like to thank the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program for their partnership on this project. Though they couldn't be there in person, their work is a vital part of what makes the Aguanita Project possible. We look forward to watching this momentum grow.
