Episode # 12 "Lour Reed"
In this episode, I share a recent original song sparked by a typo that evolved into a reflection on bad influences and the loss of innocence, seen through the eyes of an 80's kid. @brenteatsfood created an outstanding intro for our show- check his page out! Lour Reed By Colby Pennington Copyright 2026 I found a lour reed when I was 12 Thought it was the death of me And it was for quite a spell Didn’t know I was allergic to That sort of thing Who, as a preteen, knew the powers of the unseen? Not me Just walking home from school in the pre-screen world Not expecting nature to produce a pretty girl Caught me quite off guard and I let the guard stay down Every time I passed through, that part o’ town The reed grew up into swollen plant Pumped with pride and the fear that can’t Overcome just one glance Yeah I’ve heard it all before Only just one more, Only just one more I found a lour reed and it seemed cool to me Had no idea what it would even mean Anxiety! I wasn’t primed for this stuff, Back then that felt fortunate But wasn’t I supposed to grow through that? Ain’t I in need Like that lour reed, but with a happy seed? I only thought it was a Little walk on the mild side I Was Just a baby, talking walks on the mild side where I smile wide Outside
