Exploring Nhulunbuy & East Arnhem Land | Camping | Barra Fishing & The Incredible Garma Festival

We’re back with another video continuing on from where we left you in our last episode here in Nhulunbuy, East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia. This part of Arnhem Land is remote, raw, absolutely breathtaking and in this episode we take you along again with us for real some more East Arnhem adventures. We share where we’ve moved to and how truly blessed we feel to have two amazing families welcome us into their homes. As much as we love life on the road, it was so nice to park up without the hefty price tag and restrictions that come sadly with accommodation in Nhulunbuy. Not everything went smoothly though… when we booked a camp at Binydjarrna (Daliwuy Bay), we arrived to find someone else in our spot who refused to leave, definitely a very disappointing experience. From there we take you to explore Guwatjurumurru (Giddy River) and show you the campground and secluded beach at Ŋumuy (Turtle Beach). On the drive back into Nhulunbuy at dusk we were blown away by the unforgettable sight of thousands of flying foxes filling the sky, something we will never forget 🦇 Meanwhile, Cam has decided plumbing isn’t his thing anymore and takes up a new role as the resident lawnmower man 😂 We also get to be part of something pretty extraordinary, the Garma Festival a once a year cultural event that draws people from all over the world. It was an experience that left us feeling deeply connected to the land and culture of East Arnhem and we feel so blessed to share it with you.
