Left alone, our souls easily forget what has always been true. That is why we must continually remind ourselves of God's faithfulness. Again and again, we choose to place our hope in Him—not because our circumstances have already changed, but because He never changes. The psalmist doesn't wait until he feels better before speaking hope over his heart. He speaks truth first, trusting that his feelings will eventually follow.
