Doom: The Dark Ages - Nightmare Full Playthrough

Hope you all like the impaler, because that's the only weapon I used. My first playthrough took just under 11 hours on nightmare, I slept for 4 hours last night and I've been awake for 30 hours or so at the end of this, on top of that I have RSI issues as I mentioned in my previous video, so those are my excuses for dying twice and losing just about every extra life there is. The majority of extra lives lost was for mostly for some stupid things, primarily using the wrong keybind, like shield bashing into enemies. Then having demons (like a mancubus) being spawned right next to me or whatever, that's easy to deal with if you know it's coming. Then later on I got destroyed by the cacodemons, I'm sure there's an easy way to deal with those because impaler is not effective. A few bugs were quite annoying, I tried binding the melee button to mwheeldown like I have glory kill in doom eternal, but for some reason it often seemed to punch twice long after I had stopped using mwheel so I had to give up on it. One time I couldn't use or throw the shield or something, would be rough to have that happen on ultra-nightmare, fixed by reloading checkpoint. I've seen reviews mention music not playing, this also happened to me, I maybe also have been a bit slow to actually notice. Upgraded SSG is pretty good and deals with the larger demons a lot better than the impaler, though I think the impaler is definitely good early game. ------------------------------ Ok by the time this is done uploading I've been playing quite a bit more, I haven't tried all the weapons yet, but the Super Shotgun is ridiculous, just deletes most monsters in 1 hit or sets them up for execution. I'm already playing much much faster than what I did here. I think dark ages is slightly more difficult than eternal was, but not by much, partially because it's longer, but it's still quite forgiving, the 5 health before death seems like an even stronger safeguard here. More difficulty to regain health and armor though. Also the mace is really good, I stuck with the flail here for the armor, but I believe the mace will be the best option once you get it which is quite late in the game. Unfortunately I probably won't be uploading much for this game, partially because of my repetitive strain injury in both arms combined with the length of the game is too much for me these days, and while the game is fun I don't want to spend all day on it, but maybe I'll feel better about it at some point.
