Humboldt La Colonia Que Se Formó A Fuerza De Trabajo Y Esfuerzo 💪💪💪
The Humboldt commune is located in the Las Colonias department, in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina, 61.5 km from the provincial capital. Its main economic activities are agriculture and livestock. History The then Humboldt colony originated from the founding of the mother colony, Esperanza. In Esperanza, the area was divided into plots of farmland, where the colonizing families would also live, called "concessions." The settlers began to work the land and obtain resources from it, not without great sacrifice, which later became one of the richest regions in the province. As expected, the communities grew over the years and needed to expand within the same region. The area of the concession (calculated for a family of five) was not enough to support the children and grandchildren who joined them. Through a government contract at the time, the Swiss immigration agency Beck and Herzog was able to take charge of the settlement of the lands that would be occupied by the families it would continue to bring. This allowed the children of the settlers to acquire other lands beyond Esperanza. This is how, fundamentally, the settlements surrounding Esperanza, such as Humboldt, were born. In this particular case, the settlement company subdivided the lands of what would later become Humboldt, allowing many of the families already "children" of those who had arrived in Esperanza to have their new homes. Many of these families were evangelical (Protestant). Furthermore, many of these families were related to those in Esperanza, with ties that have remained strong over time, further uniting the two towns. It should be noted that in the case of Humboldt, the lands were acquired by the settlers from the Beck-Herzog liquidation company, unlike the settlers' arrival in Esperanza, who received the lands and paid for them with the fruits of their harvests in subsequent years. Thus, the Humboldt colony was founded in 1868, although there was already a settlement in 1867, later called Humboldt Chico (in German, Kleinhumboldt).
