This thing is huge! Acer Predator CG7 4K Monitor review - HDR, G-Sync, 144Hz?!?
This is a review of the Acer Predator CG7, a 4K, 43-inch gaming monitor with some interesting specs that include G-sync, upto 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, HDR1000 and more. A massive 4K monitor which is a really nice piece of gaming kit with plenty of cool features and a few downsides. Hefty, heavy duty stand, with the option of wall mounting. Rear LED lighting strips, though no clue how you fit them… USB hub Multiple HDMI and DP ports Even a place for your controllers Speakers included but are middling to awful. Also comes with a remote control if you're using it more like TV. Rather large bezels. Quite old school in that way. The design is more about the screen than anything else, but you can forgive it as it's easy to look past the bezels when you've got such glorious visuals. Menu system that includes various gaming response settings, the option to turn HDR on and off and more. On screen virtual crosshair if you need it, though we always felt like that was cheating. Not easy to work on - there's a lot of space, but it's tall as well as large. No way to adjust the height of the monitor so we found ourselves craning to use it. However, if it's wall-mounted or a little further away then it'll be ideal. It's also fantastic for video editing or anything that requires plenty of space and detail. Ambient light sensor too adjust brightness to compensate for brightness in the room. Proximity sensor to go to sleep when you aren't in front of it. Viewing angles are a bit hit and miss Lacks colour when you look from the side Some sporadic drops in FPS in racing games. From high 70-90 range briefly back up then down again Runs surprisingly well on high settings on various games with 100fps and over on Cuisine, Gravel, Wreckfest. Speakers are actually quite loud but can be tinny and distorted at times.
