Picked a Random Map Spot| Wild & Remote| ZERO Experience

I pointed to a random spot on a map, packed my gear, and headed deep into the remote wilderness with absolutely zero experience for this outdoor challenge. This is the story of what happened when I decided to go panning and rock hounding, learn the ropes from scratch, and see if a beginner could actually find gold, agates, and minerals in the wild remote as part of my nature inspired off grid journey. Going into the woods with no prior knowledge is intimidating, but I wanted to experience the raw reality of small-scale mining and rockhounding firsthand. In this video, I take you along starting through the entire learning curve—from navigating the remote terrain and reading the landscape to my very first attempts at reading a creek and panning. I am no expert, studying as I go, and learning from my mistakes.
