11. Etappe: Die Tour erst im August? „Ich finde Pogacars Vorschlag gut“

In the current issue, Denk reports on the eleventh stage of the 2026 Tour de France. "I expected the stage to unfold as it did, but not the finale. The fact that the sprint teams were only able to form up so late is, for me, a clear indicator that everyone is already dead inside. Normally, that happens much earlier," says the 52-year-old. All the Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe riders finished safely: "The medical data is also good; all the indicators are green," the team manager emphasizes. The background story focuses on Tadej Pogacar's proposal to revolutionize the race calendar. Denk is clearly impressed by the initiative. "I think it's great that such an icon is addressing this so openly. If the riders are on board, a Tour de France in August is certainly conceivable. The spring classics must remain, but everything else should be discussed." The final section covers the twelfth stage, which will be ridden on Thursday. The stage between Magny-Cours and Chalon-sur-Saône covers 180 kilometers. "The sprinters don't have many chances left in this Tour. I think we'll see another mass start tomorrow," Denk concludes.
