When we moved back to the US from Taiwan, we knew our eating habits would need a major overhaul! Especially for our seven daughters, we needed to provide them with high-quality protein—in Taiwan, seafood was plentiful, fresh catches were everywhere at night markets; but after moving to the Pacific Northwest, seafood was not only scarce but also painfully expensive! My brother Philip works as a speech therapist in Oregon. Living in the South, he knew a bunch of wealthy ranchers and cattle farmers. When our family returned to the US, he gifted us over 20 pounds of grass-fed beef as a welcome gift! It was incredibly fragrant and tender, instantly shattering our preconceived notions about American beef! In today's video, Philip takes me deep into the cowboy countryside of Oregon—the scenery is like something out of a movie! His ranch friends had just slaughtered a fresh grass-fed cow and prepared a whole one for us, while Philip himself stocked up on half a cow, filling his freezer!
