The M60 AMBT (Affordable Main Battle Tank) is a modernization program for the American M60 main battle tank developed by the Turkish company StandartBio in 2011. The program aimed to maximize performance while keeping costs down. To accomplish this, the M60 was upgraded with a 1,200 hp diesel engine, a modern fire-control system with a ballistic computer and independent sight stabilization, and a new 120 mm smoothbore gun. The tank's protection was slightly improved with the addition of full-length side skirts on the hull and slat armor on the turret. Additionally, the M60 received an electric turret drive, new observation systems, and a 25 mm automatic cannon mounted in the commander’s cupola.
